Shirdi town is situated in Rahata Tahasil in Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra State in India.It is on Ahmednagar-Manmad State Highway No.10 at 83 Km. from Ahmednagar, and 15 Km. from Kopargaon district and approximately 70 Km. from Nashik.
The nearest Airports are at Mumbai, Pune and Aurangabad. Nearest station is Kopargaon.
Both rich as well as poor devotees visit Shirdi in large numbers every to have the darshan of Shree Sai Baba. Rich class can afford to stay in deluxe costly hotels in Shirdi. But the problem was of the other devotees who come for Shri Sai darshan from far off places to Shirdi. They really had to face a lot of problems getting accommodation facilities in Shirdi, and if they were accompanied with their family, then it was used to make their condition even worse.
But there are lot of facilities now provided by Shirdi Sai Sansthan.There is complex built by Sansthan called Bhakta Niwas. From the Bhakta Niwas (500 rooms) to the Mandir, and from the Mandir back to the Bhakta Niwas, the Sansthan has started a free bus service to pick up the devotees and drop them back to their accommodation location. This has further reduced the commutation problems of the common devotee class visiting Shirdi.Canteen facility is also provided by Sansthan apart from tea and coffee stalls.Plus there is Baba's Prasadalay which is feeding every devotee with nominal charges
Also there are lot of hotels and restaurants are built which provides devotees accomadation,food very near to Samadhi Mandir.Apart from that there is special accomodation facility is provided by Maharashtra Govt. Tourism Development in reasonable rates.
